You need quite a bit of money to pay for all the administrative costs of a landed immigrant visa, and it’s not returnable if you don’t get one. Unless you have family in Canada, or some better financial background, I don’t see how you can do it.

What do you think? Answer below!

I have a question about immigrating to canada?

Question by voting for jimmy carter 3rd term: I have a question about immigrating to canada?
What steps do i need to go thru to immigrate to canada with a previous class c misdemeanor in texas 7 years ago.I had no jail time or probation just a $ 100 fine.I’m a truck driver so i would already have employment with several companies if i was allowed at some point.

Hi
you can find all the answers you need, including about your criminal record, on the website I have put below. You are not eligible for permanent employment in Canada , because that only applies to certain skilled, professional and management jobs listed by Canada as needed. You need a work permit to work temporarily in Canada. An employer could get one for you if the Canadian government department will give an ‘opinion’ that drivers are needed. That is a very common procedure that has to be followed for most temporary workers, and Canadian employers know what to do and how to fast track a decision.
About your record. You MIGHT be asked to provide a police clearance, but it is only compulsory for permanent residence, not for temporary workers. If you should need it, instructions are given on the below website about how and where to get it from the FBI, because if needed, you will have to get it yourself. It might be an idea to get it now, then you will already know what it says. It will either say you are a bad boy and have a minor record, or that there is nothing derogatory and that you are a GOOD BOY! If that S100 fine is still on your record, I belive you can apply in Texas to have it expunged. which means deleted.pity you did not say exactly what the misdemeanor was. I could have checked the Texas law for you with a friend of mine.
Hope this is of some use to you.
