Skill Requirements:
Education: Completion of high school, Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training
Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years
Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English
Work Setting: Department store
Business Equipment and Computer Applications: Point of sale system, Electronic mail, Accounting software, Word processing software, Spreadsheet software, Basic computer skills (will train), General office equipment, Internet competency
Staff Responsibility: 1 – 20
Specific Skills: Plan, direct and evaluate daily operations, Manage staff and assign duties, Study market research and trends to determine consumer demand, potential sales volumes and effect of competitors’ operations on sales, Develop and implement marketing strategies, Plan budgets and monitor revenues and expenses, Determine staffing requirements, Recruit and train staff, Prepare reports regarding sales volumes, merchandising and personnel matters, Resolve problems that arise, such as customer complaints and supply shortages, Customer service oriented
