Bring everything related to your skills – degrees, certificates, licenses, etc. Most larger cities have organizations that help newcomers get settled. If you know anyone in Canada they might help you get in touch with one of these organizations. If you don’t know anyone, try Immigrant services.

when you arrive in Canada (assuming you will be in Toronto) take (or send) all your degrees, certificates, diplomas etc to WES and get them assessed for Canadian equivalency.

this does cost money, but it will be worth it.
Then buy the newspapers everyday and check the employments ads.
Workopolis is the best online employment site for professionals.
http://www.workopolis.com/work.aspx?action=Transfer&View=Content/Common/WorkLoginView&lang=EN
its free to register, you can post several resumes, and it is the biggest job place in town.
Another good job place for jobs is the government job bank.
http://www.jobbank.gc.ca/Search_en.aspx?ProvId=06&Student=No
again its free, no registration is required, and it covers all provinces and territories.
